Brazzeia congoensis Baill.

General Information

This species, with its Latin name linked to De Brazza and to Congo, is one of the few members of the Lecythidaceae in Africa. This family, which includes the Brazil nut tree, often has flowers on the trunk or main branches, many stamens and strong fibrous bark with a clear network of fibres: all of these apply to this species.

Distribution

Distribution: Cameroon and Gabon to DRC.
