Apocynaceae
Hunteria ballayi
General Information
This is a very small tree, usually less than 3 m tall, perhaps better described as a treelet or shrub. The opposite leaves and white latex indicate that it is in the family Apocynaceae, which contains many poisonous and medicinal plants. The fruit are about 1 cm long, yellow to orange with a short beak and a warty surface. The leaves are rather variable in size and are slightly different colours on each surface when fresh. This species is extremely common in many parts of the area.
